Risks Involved in Lasik surgery

Lasik has come out as an all new means of rectifying vision problems caused by Myopia, Hyperopia and astigmatism. It can correct the defects caused by these problems and enable a person to use their eyes like normal, without the need for glasses or lenses. While Lasik has shown good results patients who opt for it, do have certain risks in Lasik surgery.
One thing that every patient opting for Lasik as to accept is that the surgery may not give them their full vision back. There are cases when a patient eye’s is not corrected and hence they have to opt for a second eye surgery. Lasik is not covered under health insurance and so the cost of Lasik treatment has to be borne by the patient and if there is a need or a second surgery, twice the cost applies.
There are other problems which patients have felt after the surgery. Some patients complain of dry eye, blurred night vision, halo vision, or worse vision that is poorer than what hey had prior to surgery.
Any person who is opting for Lasik is completely check by their doctor to determine of Lasik will best suit them. However, the situation is beyond this. The risks that go along with taking the surgery must be weighed before making the decision to opt for it.
