After the operation

Lasik surgery is performed by laser technique, in which the cornea of the eye is reshaped to remove the defects cause by myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. Just as you require post-surgery care after any other operation, so also care after a Lasik operation.
You are usually given some antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops, which should be used for a few weeks after the surgery. You may also be asked to wear dark colored goggles, to give your eyes some shielding from bright light. At night you may have the tendency to rub your eyes in which case you require the use of some Protective shields during night time.
People who undergo LASIK recover very quickly from the surgery. They can return to work soon. However, there is a possibility of the vision regressing in some people and they may have to repeat the operation after a couple of months.
